1. CPAP (Continuous positive airway pressure)

CPAP all procedure is done with the help of the machine, and the patient has to put a specific mask on their face. The machine is a three-part device;
It is a cover that fits your nose and mouth and stays in place on the face with the help of straps during sleep.
As it is a machine, so is driven by the motor which blows air.

It is a tube that has dual functions. Not only does it connects the mask and the machine, but it is also a cannula that transmits the positive pressure air.

2. Mouth devices
Mouth devices can work out once the CPAP doesn’t work and you have mild to moderate sleep apnea. These devices can only be fitted into your mouth by a dentist or orthodontist. Some are worn at night only. These include;
MAD (Mandibular advancement device)
It is the most common mouth device used by obstructive sleep apnea victims. It just appears like a mouth guard used by the athletes. Devices are fixed in the upper and lower jaw with metal hinges, drifting the lower jaw forward.
Tongue retaining device
It is used less than MAD. But it is a device that keeps the Tongue in place, preventing the obstruction of the air passageway.
